Nice video i'm 20 soon and want my first car i really like the 147 and gt but the gt drinks a lot of fuel the 147 a lot of oil but they are cheaper than the gt do you think it's a good idea to have a 147 as your first car.
Actually yes, I’d say it’s perfect as a first car. It looks great, still fresh and modern, overall very good build quality especially in the interior, great handling. It also has lots of airbags and good brakes. The 1.6Ts has good power and torque deliver, great sound. It’s true though that have issues with oil consumption and bad fuel efficiency compared to modern engines. Overall I’d say that for the money they cost now, you get a beautiful bargain.
Hey man, im about to get an alfa gt soon and i really wanna go for that paddle shift experience, so getting a 2.0 jts automatic. How are the upshifts? How are the downshifts? Is sequential faster than manual stick? Do the inputs have delay on them? And if so how much? You get what i mean, thanks. (Was looking at an auto miata with paddle shifters and goddamn it's an awful sight because of the delay, don't want the Alfa to be the same)
Thank you for commenting. I’m very glad that you are thinking of buying a GT selespeed. I bought it for the exact same reason, because I wanted to have the paddle shifting experience. Don’t forget that we’re talking for an automated manual gearbox of a single clutch. It isn’t super fast but neither slow. To my experience it’s faster than a manual gearbox overall. However if you are a racing driver then you will find it rather slow. It all depends on the driver’s experience. There is a slight delay but not that much. When I compare it to my fully automatic Brera, the delay is significantly lower in my GT. I haven’t driven a Miata to compare. Personally I love the experience, especially during downshifting because of the rev matching. Most of the times I drive her in manual mode. The only downside to me is that during driving in the city is just a while jerky.
Hello! I want to buy such a car, but I am afraid of engine problems and transmission errors. Can you give me some advice or experience?
Hello friend and thank you for asking. JTS is known to have some issues, most of them related to the direct injection system and valve deposits. You have to find one with proper maintenance. Selespeed transmission also comes with some issues as they get older. Accumulator failure that leads to pump failure eventually, electro valves issues etc which cost a lot to fix. If I wanted to have peace in my mind then I’d probably go for a twin spark one or a jtd, both with manual transmission. If you have money and time to spend then the combination I drive is perfect for a project car. It handles brilliantly though and she is a true beauty
How about hill climbing to the top??Any issues on this car??
Not too many to be honest other than regular maintenance and upper and lower wishbones that need quite often replacement. The only thing that I've replaced prematurely is the steering rack. Thank you for commenting.
Top speed 195kmh?? Seem ok for me... 3.3/5🌟
I'd say more than enough for me. You enjoy driving it in the mountains more than high speed cruising on the highway.
Such a beautiful GT!
Hey, i wanted to ask you, how much fuel does this car consume? According to some data, some say it does like 10 km/l, some say it does like 8 km/land etc. How much do you consume? -- Sorry for my bad english :( --
Thank you for asking. My usual consumption is at around 7 lt/100 km. Most of the mileage is on the highway though. In the past where I used to drive a lot in the city I used to get around 10 lt/100 km.
@@pov_driver Oh, it's bad... But, it's ok. ahaha
@@Gholoso it is bad only if you compare it to a modern vehicle. But for a 1.6 lt engine that produces 120hp back in the 2000s it's quite good actually. Only 7lit/100km.
@@pov_driver No no no, wait, don't misunderstand: I love this car, and as an Italian, I fully appreciate this car, this engine and the performance. I asked you about the consumption, because I would really like to buy it, except that I will have to fall back on the LPG or CNG model with also the hydrogen system to maximize consumption, because in my province (Turin), you can no longer travel by car Diesel euro 5 down. So, I'll have to get it with petrol, even though the 1.9 JTDm has much better fuel consumption than the petrol.
@@Gholoso I think that with lpg the consumption is a little bit higher but then you earn by the lower lpg price. I believe that if you drive it in the city more then you should be expecting somewhat near 8-10lt/100km overall which is relatively high especially in comparison with newer cars. That’s true. My personal opinion is that it isn’t suitable for city driving especially with so high consumption but I definitely recommend it for driving outside city and on the highway. Cheers mate!
Love your content! I'm also owner of 147 Ti in Cyprus May I ask if you have any recommended workshops familiar with maintenance and tuning of 147 series?
Thank you for commenting and liking my content. I service my Alfas at Christoforos Kouloundis’s garage in Limassol. I’ve also heard excellent comments about Red Scorpion Garage in Nicosia but haven’t tried them yet.

She actually is a macchina sportiva. Thank you for commenting
What camera are you using? Also do you have problems with this car?
This one is made with the dji osmo 2 action camera. I use also the GoPro hero 10. No problems at all. The only issue is oil consumption, a known problem with most of the twin sparks. Thank you for commenting
Thank you so much ❤@@pov_driver
@@pov_driver what oil do you use? I recently switched to Mannol 5W40 and it improved a lot. I also own a 1983 GTV which consumed way too much oil but the Mannol fixed everything
@@HellishPunch I now usually use Valvoline 10w/40. Previously when in Greece I only used Selenia 20k 10w40. Both are fine. It consumes though a lot. Was considering changing to a full synthetic 5w40 but haven’t yet done it. I’ll have it in mind though. Thank you for commenting

Is this considered a hatchback or coupe.
Nice question. Actually it’s considered a coupe even though it’s practically a hatchback. It’s more hatchback than the GT

Thank you for commenting mate.
this is the best looking hatchback ever made! also one of the coolest looking cars ever
Couldn't agree more. Thank you for commenting.
How does it feel compared to your Alfas? Which one are you inclined to choose when going for the mountains?
Thank you for commenting. This is actually a very good question. It all depends on my mood, on how I feel like driving. If I want something smooth, easy and calm then I go for my X5. If I feel like driving in a more spirited way then Alfa is my choice. The X5 is definitely a cruiser. You enjoy her driving her for miles and miles no matter where. The Alfas are more fun to drive 😉
That interior noise... Sooo sad that intalians cant made good interiors and electric
Thank you for commenting. Actually there are a couple of different noises. One of them caused by the plastic wrap the rear seats where covered drom factory and never removed properly. Another probably caused by the windshield trim that reflects in the interior. And another that still undiscovered.
beautiful drive. I can't wait for mine in about 2 weeks :D it'll be my first car that is not only pretty to look at but also the first car that has more then 100hp

Εγω στην brera εχω βρει plug and play replacment μονο το μακτρο
Great POV. Which is better for long road trips (500km+)? the GT or the Brera?
That’s a tough one. I’d say the Brera. Overall it’s much better in the motorway and since a diesel much more efficient and economical. It’s quieter too and rock solid. Thank you for commenting
@@pov_driver Thanks for the reply. That's good to know. Slightly worried it will leave me stranded 700km from home but oh well... it's either that or an e46 (which will also leave me stranded given the chance haha).
Great

Are the Selespeed gear boxes reliable?
They have some weak points but overall I’d say they are ok. Key factor is to find a mechanic that knows them well and how to fix them if needed. The mechanism itself isn’t that complicated at all, however parts, especially the solenoids are quite expensive.
@@pov_driver Thanks for your feedback ont the Selespeed. Great video by the way!

We can drive in city mode (automatic programm ) in the highway and if I want to drive in other country
Of course you can
@@pov_driver If I drive this car on the highway and I want to drive 2000 km longer, then I can also use city mode (automatic program), that's what I meant
@@nette8986 city is the fully automatic program of the gearbox. Selespeed is a semi automatic sequential gearbox. I’m not sure I fully get the question you ask. 🤔
@@pov_driver I explain even better: can I drive on the highway with city mode or can I only drive in the city with city mode
@@nette8986 you can drive in city mode everywhere. City mode will just change gears automatically for you. If you want to change gears manually then you deselect city mode. Sport mode works only in manual mode and make shifts slightly quicker when driving aggressively
Alfa gt jts 2.0 is it a good car ?
It’s a brilliant car if you have a good working engine. One of the main issues with her is the poorly designed direct injection system that causes lots of valve deposits causing lots of misfires and poor performance overall. If you find a well maintained example it’s an absolute joy to drive. Thank you for commenting.
How does it feel to drive this car?
She feels solid on the motorway, quite heavy and chubby on mountain roads. However, she definitely can turn despite her weight. All you have to do is show her some trust. Make sure you check on the playlist on the channel to watch some videos on the mountain
